Support for House Construction
8th June, 2025, Kallayam

Sarath (27) is an intellectually and physically challenged youth living at Kallayam. His father is a daily wage worker and mother a house wife. The family is long time associated with Sakshama. They tried to build a house under the Life Mission scheme of the state government. As the area of their plot is small, they had to construct a room at first floor also to meet the mandatory minimum area condition prescribed by the scheme. But unfortunately they got stuck half way through the construction due to lack of funds. As the completion of their own house got delayed, they had to find extra money to pay the rent for their accommodation also. At this stage they requested Sakshama for help. On seeing the plight of the family, Sakshama tried and found out an NRI sponsor to help them. We handed over the amount of Rs 1 lakh donated by that philanthropist to the family with which they could finish the bathroom and minimum work. Though there is more work to finish, now they could move in to the new house and sleep there. Sakshama would like to express our sincere gratitude to those who come forward to help such people who are in real need of help.
